Dr. Mahendran at the helm of Kandy cricket

Dr. R. Mahendran, a top class sports personality, was unanimously elected President of the Kandy District Cricket Association (KDCA) at its Annual General Meeting held at the Sri Lanka cricket’s Central Regional Branch office in Kandy last week.

Dr. Mahendran is a product of St. Thomas College, Matale, who later excelled in a number of sports activities at St. Sylvesters College, Kandy and University of Peradeniya.

Dr. Mahendran who was connected with the development of Cricket in the region for a number of years succeeded Thilina Tennakoon, who decided to step down after a record run of eight consecutive years as president. Roland Perera succeeded Janaka Pathirana as the Secretary.

Roland Perera was a former St. Sylvester Moors SC, Kandy CC top class cricketer.
