Nescaf`E9 livens up Colombo

Our correspondent was one of the passers-by who was pleasantly surprised by the external wall of the Nestl`E9 Lanka Headquarters, now quite an extraordinary and familiar landmark in Colombo.

Instead of the typical ash white shade, one is greeted by a wall of trendy graffiti with vibrant hues, catchy slogans and colourful personalities, all depicting the many moods and emotions of Nescaf`E9.

The Nescaf`E9 graffiti wall is a unique marketing tool born through a wall painting competition entitled ‘Urban Flava’. It was organised in November last year by Nestl`E9 Lanka and the advertising agency Grant McCann Erickson with the objective to build Nescaf`E9 hype among Colombo’s youth.

The Nescaf`E9 wall painting exercise, which saw the participation of many adults and school children, was used as a platform to promote local artists by providing them with the opportunity to be associated with an international brand. Artists’ names are proudly signed beside each graffiti storyboard. And yes, each striking painting is truly a storyboard!
