DSI intends to capture Middle Eastern markets

The DSI Samson Group in collaboration with its partner and principal sponsor, Al Asawa Commercial Services, represented Sri Lanka at the recently held Saudi Arabia Trade Exhibition in Jeddah.

The exhibition was held from 19th to 23rd march 2006, is an annual platform on which Asian companies can showcase their products and market their quality, range and variety to negotiate lucrative business deals with South Eastern dealers in order to open the huge Saudi Arabian market to their countries and promote the export of merchandise into the Middle East.

The DSI Samson Group, on the invitation of Al Asawa Commercial Services presented a wide range of group products at the exhibition, and made a positive impact on a Saudi market hitherto dominated by India and China. Amidst stiff competition from other companies that included India, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and other local Saudi Arabian companies, D. Samson Group succeeded in impressing businessmen and competitors alike with the superior quality of its footwear, rubber household products, tiles and other items - resulting in joint venture partnership offering from wholesale, retail and other manufacturers hoping to produce DSI products in Saudi Arabia itself.

DSI Samson Group Senior Manager, M.M.F. Hashim, who was also one of the Group representatives in Jeddah, said: "The exhibition was a tremendous success. The quality of our products was well accepted in the Saudi market and many companies came forward with deals that are now in the process of being finalised. These deals will grant our Group and Sri Lanka, access into the lucrative Saudi Arabian market and perhaps also pave the way for other Sri Lankan companies to tap into large consumer base in the Middle East. We are also extremely happy that Zubairdeen, the International Business Development Consultant of our partner Al Asawa Commercial Services in Jeddah, invited us to this trade fair as it offered us a great opportunity to promote DSI products while boosting the image of Sri Lanka."
