Most of all, let me take this opportunity to thank the President for his noble and courageous decision, which is highly appreciated.

I have noticed many letters in some of the newspapers by various organisations/groups and individuals showing displeasure over the ban of the ‘Dan Vinci Code’. Why are all these people excited about this ban? Is it because this movie is an anti-Christ movie?

Some non-Christian and the anti-Christ groups say that the book and the movie is "just a story", but what one should realise is that this is not just another story, and the story is not based on just another GOD or just another person. This story is a false story made in order to tarnish the image and the life story of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Creator of the Heaven and Earth.

There are over 33% Christians in the world, and to all Christians this book and movie are not acceptable, since Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the only living God, who is revered all over the globe.

I wish to ask those organisations/groups and individuals who are unhappy with the ban, "What if there would be a movie, tarnishing the image of Buddha or any other religious leader, what would be your reaction to that?" I personally believe that all movies and books which in one way or another may tarnish the image of any religious leader or any religion should be banned completely. After all on what foundation are these organisations and groups who are talking so much about "Freedom of Expression", comparing a living religion to a slogan called "Freedom of Expression. What nonsense is this and are these groups so looney in their thinking?

What has these groups or individuals done to protect the right of the Sinhalese movie which was banned recently? Did any group shout at that point. The answer is NO.

Then what is all the shouting about for the ‘Da Vinci Code’? Have these groups been bribed by vested interests?
