Commercial Bank introduces Holiday Banking to Ampara

The Commercial Bank recently introduced its groundbreaking Holiday Banking service to its Ampara branch and is the sole provider of this service in the entire Eastern Province of the country.

The Bank’s branch at Ampara will now be opened everyday including, all holidays from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm. This will be Commercial Bank’s 16th Holiday Banking centre. The Bank offers holiday banking through 13 ‘MiniCom’ centres and ‘Arpico Service Points’as well as at its branches at Dharmapala Mawatha, Colombo 7 and Negombo.

This service is mainly intended to serve personal customers and enables them to make deposits withdrawals to and from any account, encash cheques, obtain account information and make credit card settlements or any other type of banking activity. Even customers of other branches can encash cheques and withdraw funds from their savings accounts up to Rs 100,000.

This Holiday Banking service is also opened to non-customers and the general public to open accounts, encash traveller’s cheques and settle utility bills and credit card dues of other banks.

Commercial Bank’s Senior Deputy General Manager - Personal Banking Ravi Dias said that expanding Holiday Banking to Ampara was part of the Bank’s drive to offer this service to all major towns in Sri Lanka. "The launch of this service will not only benefit customers of Ampara and the Eastern Province but will also help customers of any other branch. Even professionals and employees of state and private sector organizations could visit the Ampara branch to carry out their banking requirements leisurely,"he said.
