Iran’s nuclear programme and Israel - reply
I refer to the letter of Saybhan Samat that was published in "The Island" on Sept. 2, 2006. In his letter he states that Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) has authorised Iran to develop ‘nuclear energy’ for peaceful purposes, but the US and Western powers refuse to trust Iran because they consider ‘terrorists’ to be liars.

The third paragraph of his letter states that the ‘Lebanon War’ has demonstrated the power of ‘Iranian missiles’ that were used by the Hezbollah, and also the intention of Iranian President to use long range missiles on Tel Aviv. Hence it is being proved beyond reasonable doubt that the ‘Nuclear Programme of Iran’ is obviously meant for destructive purpose.

The President of Iran, Mohmoud Ahmedinejad, and Osama bin Laden have stated more than once that Israel should be wiped off the world map. Bin Laden had also stated that the ‘infidels’ (referring to Christians) should be made to perish. Osama bin Laden is the only son born of a concubine to his father Sheikh Muhammed bin Awad bin Laden. He has had the audacity to make that detestable statement.

I presume that Osama is an adviser to the Iranian President. Their symbiotic relationship may be equivalent to that of Pilate and Judas, who were jointly responsible for the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Together, they pose a serious threat to the world, which may end in a global conflagration.

Therefore, I politely request God fearing Muslims like Samat to promptly plead with Iranian President not to go ahead with his ‘Nuclear Programme’ and to have no truck with the reprehensible Osama bin Laden, a relationship which could lead to total annihilation of civilization.
