An underworld gang yesterday hit the wrong target, when they opened fire on another underworld character but killed three innocent bystanders instead.

The gunmen had arrived at the Ambagaha Handiya three wheeler park, in the Wellampitiya Police area and opened fire targeting another gangster who escaped.

Wellampitiya Police are investigating. (NP)
