The National Service and Cadres Commission will takemore than 220 statutory bodies that had been not covered previously under its wing.

Chairperson Lionel Fernando on Wednesday told the National Trade Union Centre in Colombo, that he would instruct the despatch of relevant circulars to the 220 statutory bodies before November 30.

He stressed that action will be taken to give salary increments to all statutory bodies in the country.

The National Trade Union Centre demands that statutory bodies’ salary scales should be raised over the state sector salary scales. According to a circular issued recently there is a difference in increments that should be corrected.
