Two weeks prior to the ‘Geneva Talks’ of October 28th and 29th, we addressed a letter to the local print-media (English) titled ‘Geneva II - talks bound to fail’. Strongly none of the papers thought it fit to give due publicity for same - may be they may have had their own reasons for not publishing same. But we arrived at our opinion after very carefully analysing - not only LTTE gimmicks of the past two decades, but also what respected Tamil Leader of the like of V. Anandasangaree, Minister Douglas Devananda, LTTE renegade Col. Yamna Awman, Rasiak Thurairaja of EPRLF fame, who know V. Prabhakaran and his Terrorist Outfit inside-out had repeatedly said at many International Former as well as their Media Releases.

Though our print media did not venture to publish the said letter, we had once again been proved right. Earlier several letters by us pointing out the illegality of the 1987 merger of the Northern and Eastern provinces were published in most of the print-media. Although we knew that the Fraudulent Merger was Unconstitutional and hence Null & void in Law, we had no means to initiate litigation. Thanks to the JVP, they filed action - though belated and a full five member Bench - which included the country’s Chief Justice gave the verdict in favour of the JVP and rightly so.

This Supreme Court Judgement for reasons that cannot be understood-appear to have inked the so-called ‘Peace-Monges’, ‘INGOS’, the Opposition UNP and also the International Community including USA, UK, Japan and Norway. How come?

Is Sri Lanka not an Independent, Sovereign Country? How can outsiders interfere so blatantly with the country’s purely internal affairs? Do they not recognise and respect the highest Court of Law of Sri Lanka? The TNA are Tiger Proxies and Tigers indeed in sheeps clothing as we see at the beginning of every Parliamentary sitting.

Why is the Government feeling so-shy to tell the world Loud & Clear that enough is enough and we do not welcome or tolerate interference, even by ‘word’ in our Judiciary? Are we so naive, so timid for the fear of losing the ‘Dollar Aid bait? Have we no self-respect, honour, decency and dignity? Why bend backwards to appease a set of terrorists and the International Community at every turn? This is exactly what all our past rulers and so-called leaders from JRJ down to Ranil W and CBK did all the time. And that is exactly why we are, today, in this most tragic prodicament!
