The Weerasooriya brothers, Kasun and Yasun, won
the boy’s Under-19 first round match and the Under-13 semi final
respectively, at 17th National Junior Squash Championship 2006,
organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Squash Association and worked
off at the Gymkhana Club, Colombo, on Tuesday.
Kasun beat Nadesh 3-0 in an Under- 19 boy’s
first round match.
He won the first set 9-2, the second 9-3 and the
third 9-nil.
Yasun Weerasooriya was very impressive in the
Under-13 boy’s semi final, where he beat A. Nagendra 3-0. Yasun
clinched the first and second sets 9- nil and the third 9-1. In
the Under-15 boy’s semi final, Yasun lost to Binura Jayasooriya
3-0 (9/6, 9/2, 9/3).
Meanwhile, P. Laksiri beat Jaliya Katugampola
3-0 in the boy’s Under-13 second semi final (9/2, 9/2, 9/2),
while Shariya Guruge beat Dinushika Silva 3-0 in the Under-15
girl’s semi final (9/1, 9/2, 9/2).
