Insurance Association of Sri Lanka ( IASL), realizing the importance and emerging need for life insurance, has decided to bring together the best insurance advisors in the country for a National Forum for Life Insurance Advisors (NAFLIA). Such a forum will not only bring together the country’s best, but would also be a learning experience which would promote better understanding within the industry. The event will take place on 30th May 30, 2007 at Waters Edge, Battaramulla.

This landmark event would see the participation of more than six hundred fifty insurance advisors from twelve leading insurance companies. The presentation line up will be as follows. Mrs, Lasinee Serasinghe, Director General Insurance Board of Sri Lanka will be presenting on the Role of IBSL and the regulations of a professional career in her keynote address. Rudy Verrilli of Life Insurance Marketing Research Association (LIMRA) – USA in his presentation will highlight on the fact of Ethical Selling as the foundation of a professional career and Dr. WickramaWeerasooriya from the Insurance Ombudsman will make a presentation on the insurance advisors from the policy holder’s point of view. Also Kishu Gomes Country Chairman of Chevron Lubricants Lanka Ltd and Chevron Ceylon Ltd will address the forum as a guess speaker. ‘Emerging Role of the Life Insurance Advisor’ will be the theme behind the Inaugural NAFLIA forum and the Objectives are to enhance the professional image of the sales person operating within the Life assurance industry, To position the insurance industry as a whole and within that the role of the life insurance adviser in the eyes of the general public, to focus on the maintenance of ethical standards and practices and there by enhance the career image of the professional adviser.
