A youth was stabbed to death after a heated argument at Green Avenue in George R. De Silva Mawatha last afternoon, police said.

The dead has been identified as Mohamed Kamil Mohammed Fariz (30) of 134/1, Rahuman Lane, Old Moor Street, Colombo 12.

Acting OIC of Kotahena Police, SI Vithana told 'The Island' that the victim had been attacked by five unidentified persons who had arrived in two three wheelers.

The attackers had escaped and the motive behind the killing was yet to be established, he said.
