Bangladesh forced to follow on

DHAKA, Bangladesh (AP) - Bangladesh was forced to follow on after collapsing in the face of a massive Indian first innings total Sunday on the third day of the second and final test.

Resuming on an overnight score of 58 runs for five wickets, Bangladesh lasted 21.2 overs and added just 60 runs as it crumbled to 118 all out in pursuit of India’s first innings total of 610 for three declared.

After India enforced the follow on, Bangladesh staggered to 147-5 at tea in its second innings, leaving Khaled Mashud (6) and Shakib al Hasan (13) were not out at the break.

Hasan failed to add to his overnight score of 30 after Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan trapped him lbw in the very first over of the third day.

Spin bowler Anil Kumble then picked up Mohammad Sharif (13) lbw, while Ishant Sharma earned his first test wicket when Mashrafee Bin Mortaza was caught by Kumble for just two runs.

Mohammad Rafique partnered with Mashud but the duo also failed to show any difference.

Rafique brought up his 1,003rd run in his 28th test, adding 12 runs Sunday before being bowled by Khan.

Dhoni caught Mashud for 25 off a Kumble delivery, while Syed Russel ended the innings not out at two.
