The Colombo Magistrate issued a warrant for the
arrest of Bruce Guttman a Lawyer of California USA, who is
charged with filing a false Affidavit in the High Court of
Colombo.
The criminal charge was made under the hand of
the Registrar on an order by the High Court Judge.
As Guttman failed to appear despite summons
being several on him in the USA, through the Ministry of
Justice, Sri Lanka, the Magistrate made order for his arrest and
production in Court.
Arrangements will be made under the extradition
treaty for the arrest.
The warrant will be executed by the US
authorities and Interpol.
Guttman is alleged to have acted in collusion
with Ceylinco's lawyers and the Directors of Blue Diamonds Ltd.,
to tender the false affidavit to the High Court.
Investigations are underway to determine the
criminal activities and liabilities of the parties involved.
