The Katunayake International Airport (KIA) was
reopened for night flights yesterday.
The KIA had not been functional at night since
April, when the LTTE launched an air raid on adjoining Air Force
base.
Many flights had to be cancelled during this
period of night time curfew, which also inconvenienced
passengers in transit via Sri Lanka.
The international airlines that cancelled their
scheduled night flights would have to reschedule them, airport
sources said yesterday.
