Sahabdeen  and Tennekoon lift ‘Purico’  trophy

Veteran south paw, Ishak Sahabdeen of Glaxo Smith Kline combined well with young Asela Tennakoon of The Finance Company, to lift the brand new ‘Purico’ trophy, when they beat Ameer Muthuwappa of Lankem Ceylon and Achira Welikala of Softlogic in the final at the first MCA Snooker Doubles Championships, concluded at the MCA table last weekend.

The tournament was sponsored by Tea Infusions (Pvt) Ltd.

Results:

Semi-Final One: Ishak Sahabdeen (Glaxo Smith Kline) and Asela Tennakoon (The Finance Company) beat Chris Ferdinandz and Janaka Perera (Metropolitan Group) 50/43, 62/36.

Semi Final Two: Ameer Muthuwappa (Lankem Ceylon) and Achira Welikala (Softlogic) beat Roshan Iddamalgoda (Mabroc Teas) and Chaminda Fernando (JL Morison) 69/50, 59/46.

Final: Ishak Sahabdeen (Glaxo Smith Kline) and Asela Tennakoon (The Fnance Company) beat Ameer Muthuwappa (Lankem Ceylon) and Achira Welikala (Softlogic) 77/06, 20/63, 62/15.

Awards were presented by Tyrone de Silva, former President/MCA, Tissa Madigasekera, President MCA and the chief guest, Business Development Manager, Tea Infusions (Pvt) Limited, N. S. Poorikco at the conclusion of the tournament.
