The SLFP is unable to take action against non-Cabinet Minister Mervin Silva as nobody has made a written complaint against him, General Secretary of the SLFP and Minister Maithripala Sirisena said.

"We also know what he is up to, but let somebody make a written complaint to us for follow up action," he said.

However, unofficial sources said that he would be removed as the Organizer of the Kelaniya electorate.

When asked to comment, Mervin Silva asked not to be disturbed by phone calls but to meet him personally. Some journalists were interested in his being removed from the post of Organizer of the Kelaniya electorate, he said.
