At the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Amarapura Sect held at Rankoth Viharaya Panadura recently under the patronage of Most Ven. Pandit Ambalangoda Sumangala Nayake Thera, Ven. Radduluwe Wimalawansa Nayake Thera, the Head of the Sri Dharmananda Pirivena was appointed as the Secretary General of Amarapura Sect.

Ven. Wimalawansa Thera has rendered yeomen service to Sri Lankans living abroad, specially in Europe during his 7 year Buddhist missionary service carried out while being the Head of the Boon Vihara in Germany and Sicili Vihara in Italy.

Currently Ven. Wimalawansa Nayake Thera serves as the principalof Sri Sugatha (English medium) Dhamma School at the Subodharamaya.
