The Mahinda College, Galle, Under-17
cricket team, which won the 2007 U-17 Div. ‘A’ championship, is
scheduled to tour Bangalore, India, in late April 2008.
Channa Weerasinghe, Jt. Secretary,
Mahinda College Galle, Cricket Foundation, told ‘The Island’
that the one week tour is in appreciation of the team winning
the championship.
Mahinda College beat St. Peter’s
College, Colombo in the final.
Weerasinghe appeals to old Mahindians
to support the Cricket Foundation by channelling funds to
further develop cricket at Mahinda College, Galle.
