The Army on Monday recovered bodies of nine LTTE cadres and a quantity of arms and ammunition in Kalmadu in Mannar. The bodies were later dispatched to the Vavuniya Hospital to be handed over to the LTTE through the ICRC.

Army believes that 21 LTTE cadres were killed in a confrontation in Kalmadu earlier in the day, but was able to discover only nine bodies.
