Chief Minister of the Southern Province Shan Wijelal de Silva
had referred the cases of bribery and corruption, against the
Mayor Galle Municipal Council and two Pradehsiya Sabahas of the
Southern Province, to the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Headquarters,
Provincial Council sources said.
Charges against the Chairmen of two Predeshiya Sabhas had
been investigated by the SLFP disciplinary committee and the
charges against the Mayor of Galle were currently under
investigation, sources said.
Chief Minister Shan Wijelal de Silva told the Provincial
Council meeting that he will take prompt action on the matter as
soon as the inquiry findings were made available to him, sources
added.
