
Sixteen-year-old Praneeth Chathuranga
Bombuwalage who has represented his school in athletics and
rugger is suffering from acute myeloid leukaemia and is under
treatment at the Anura dhapura General Hospital. Medical experts
said that this disease could be cured at an Indian hospital.
According to doctors, around Rs. 4 million would be needed for
treatment in India.
Praneeth is a student at Anuradhapura Walisinghe
Harischandra Vidyalaya. He was unable to sit for the GCE O/L
examination held in December 2007, as his father who had been
with the army for 20 years and mother employed at the Chief
Minister’s Secretariat of the North Central Province were unable
to raise the required money, donors are requested to contribute
