Soniyer one heck of a ‘President’

President’s College, Rajagiriya, cruised to an easy innings and nine run victory over Lumbini College as leg spinner Soniyer Perera completed a match bag of 11 wickets to hold their opponents to 147 runs in the second innings in their Inter School First XI match which ended at Mahara Prison Grounds on Tuesday.

St. John’s overrun Carey

St. John’s College, Nugegoda, came up with a fine all-round performance to record their first outright victory of the season, as they stunned Carey College by bettering their first innings performance to score an eight wickets victory in their match ended at Railway Grounds on Tuesday.

While Rashen Amanda bagged eight wickets, a fine 61 from Mayura Ranasinghe in the first innings and an unbeaten 71 runs by Shehan David stood in good stead for St. John’s.

Devananda College bettered their first innings performance, posting a fighting 267 runs, but it couldn’t stave off defeat as Kasun Pussewela and Yasoda Lanka topped 40 runs for Richmond College to record a five wicket victory in their Inter School First XI match ended at Ratgama, on Tuesday.
