Tigers in a
corner – Army chief
by Norman Palihawadena

Sarath
The LTTE is in utter mess and has lost its fighting
capabilities, Army Commander Lt. Gen. Sarath Fonseka said
yesterday. "Several area and group leaders among the fighting
cadres have died and there is no one lead them or give
instructions," he said.
He said the government troops were confidently going forward
and would soon capture more areas held by the Tigers. The big
names among their fighting cadres are no more, he said.
It is firmly believed that Prabhakaran is either injured or
indisposed but the news is being kept a secret since the LTTE
cadres could get discouraged.
The morale of the troops is very high because of the advances
made in the recent past, the Commander said.
