Lokuge lauds SL Turf Club

Minister Lokuge and
ministry officials are seen with Dhammika Attygalle (President,
N’Eliya Turf Club), Rajah Sinnathuray (Secretary), Rajan
Sellamuttu (Chairman Board of Stewards), Gamini Jayaratne
(Treasurer), Devinda Senanayake (Steward) and D. Sirimevan
Senanayake (Steward).
On an official invitation by the Sri Lanka Turf
Club, Minister of Sports, Gamini Lokuge, Permanent Secretary,
Liyanagama and Sports Ministry officials visited the Nuwara
Eliya Race course recently and met Dhammika Attygalle
(President), Rajah Sinnathuray (Secretary), Rajan Sellamuttu
(Chairman Board of Stewards), Gamini Jayaratne (Treasurer),
Devinda Senanayake (Steward) and D. Sirimevan Senanayake
(Steward).
They inspected the race course, stables,
steward’s room and other areas.
Lokuge praised the Sri Lanka Turf Club and said
he was impressed at the work done by them and for organising
horse races in Nuwara Eliya.
A discussion followed at the office of the Mayor
of Nuwara Eliya, Chandanalal Karunaratne, where several points
were discussed. Thereafter, a meeting was also held at the race
course.
The next Horse Race meet will be held on March
22 and April 6, 13 and 19.
