At least ten LTTE cadres including Kalai Arasi,
a self-styled Lieutenant Colonel in charge of an LTTE attack
craft (Surali) were killed in an SLAF strike on a Sea Tiger
facility at Kiranchi, Pooneryn last week.
According to naval intelligence, two others
holding the rank of ‘Major’ and Lieutenant had been killed. The
sources said that the targeted base had been primarily used as a
training facility for women’s wing of the Sea Tigers. (SF)
