Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), and Mobitel, met each other at the Convergence Trophy cricket tournament hosted by both companies.

The main objective behind this cricket tournament was the strengthening of team work in convergence of technologies with a view to add more value to its customers.

The Twenty20 cricket tournament was worked off at the MCA grounds, recently.

The two companies played two matches head to head, in categories ‘A’ and ‘B’. SLT won the ‘A’ category match by eight wickets, while Mobitel won the ‘B’ category match by seven wickets.

"We encourage a wide range of sports at SLT and out of those, cricket gets the most attention. During the past few years, the SLT cricket team met the Mobitel cricket team in two friendly matches. The fellowship and sportsmanship has gone a long way in uniting people from both companies and depicts exactly what we try to achieve in promoting a life beyond the workplace," said MBP Fernandez, Chief Operations and Maintenance Officer, SLT who is also the President of the SLT Cricket Association.
