St. Joseph’s College showed a glimpse of what
one could expect in the forthcoming Limited Overs ‘Big Match’
against St. Peter’s College, when ‘Big Match’ (Two day) drop out
Dhinal Dhambarage picked up five wickets, including a hat-trick
and shared ten wickets with his senior pacemen Thisara Perera,
for the Joes to cruise to an easy ten wicket win against
Henegama Central in their inter School Limited Overs match
played at Darley Road on Monday.
Having restricted the visitors to a paltry 31,
St. Joseph’s strolled to victory in just three overs. Opener
Dimuth Karunaratne cracked an unbeaten 25, in the process.
In a match that lasted just 74 minutes,
Dhambarage proved what a handyman he would be for the Joes in
the future as he rattled the sixth, seventh and eighth wickets
of Henegama Central to record the first hat-trick of the Limited
Overs tournament.
Dhambarage had Srimal Jayashan, Rasika
Warnakumara and Chamara Hathurusinghe lbw in successive balls.

Gunathilaka top scores for Mahanama
All rounder Danushka Gunathilaka scored 68 in 61
balls, inclusive of nine fours and one six while Maduka
Dharmawardena scored an unbeaten 39 for Mahanama College to
record a seven wicket victory over Taxila College in their
Limited Overs match played at Kotte on Monday.

Devananda College, Ambalangoda, continued their
unbeaten record, registering their fourth victory as Ramesh
Lakshitha calmed the nerves to score an unbeaten 56 to help his
side record a thrilling one wicket victory over St. Thomas’
College, Matara, in their match played at Uyanwatte Grounds.
