The UNP and JVP yesterday condemned yesterday’s LTTE
attack on Chief Government Whip Jeyaraj Fernandopulle which killed ten
others including National Athletics Coach Lakshman de Alwis and K. A.
Karunaratne,a veteran long distance runner who had represented the
country.
The UNP said although there had been political differences
between the UNP and the Chief Opposition Whip the party appreciated the
services rendered by the minister. Condemning acts of terrorism, the UNP
said the party would never condone terrorist attacks.
