President Mahinda Rajapaksa has ordered the three-member committee, probing Labour Minister Mervyn Silva’s antics at the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation and the assault on some members of the staff on December 27, 2007, to expedite the submission of its findings, sou.rces said.

The incident took place four months ago yet the finalizing of the report had been delayed owing to various issues including the absence of one of the committee members, who had been abroad for sometime, sources said.

The member has returned and the finalizing of the report could be completed very soon, sources said, adding that about 90 percent of committee’s task had been completed.
