Wijesekera further remanded,
will face identification parade

JVP parliamentarian Jayantha Wijesekara and two others, who allegedly were involved in the robbery of three vehicles of dissident JVP MPs, were yesterday further remanded by Colombo Additional Magistrate Giyan Ranawaka till April 21. They are to be produced for an Identification parade on or before that day.
Police recovered the two robbed vehicles from the JVP head office premises. Another vehicle was found in Chilaw. The vehicles of Piyasiri Wijenayake and Achala Jagoda were stolen on April 9 from the Parliament garage and the vehicle belonging to Samansiri Herath was forcibly taken away by an unidentified group from his home at Arachchikattuwa, Chilaw the same night. Welikada police arrested Jayantha Wijesekara, MP, over the robbery of the vehicles and he was remanded till yesterday when he was produced before the Magistrate’s Court of Colombo earlier. Two other suspects had surrendered to the police and were produced before the Court yesterday together with Wijesekera.
