An unguarded trench dug up nearly a month ago to lay hume pipes at the Mawilmada roundabout, where Nagaha Ella road and Vidyalaya road meet, is left unattended endangering the lives of motorists as well as pedestrians in the area.

There is no notice or red light to warn the motorists of the danger. Eight to ten motor cyclists have been injured by falling into the unguarded trench.

The disgusted residents have planted a plantain tree to warn the motorists of the danger.
