AMBALANGODA: Ambalangoda Zonal Director of Education Piyasena Godagama, who cancelled the transfer of a teacher from P. de S. Kularatne Vidyalaya to Dharmasoka MV (National School), was stabbed by her husband. The DE was at the office when the incident happened, around 3.30 p.m.

He was admitted to the Balapitiya Base Hospital with injuries on the head and shoulder.

The offender, Nihal Samarasinghe of Thilakapura, Ambalangoda was produced before the Balapitiya Magistrate, Ajith Masinghe and remanded, Ambalangoda HQI Upul Nilmini Ariyaratne, who is conductingthe inquiries, said.
