Nurses end strike

Nurses of the National Hospital, who staged a lightning strike over a misunderstanding with a consultant surgeon, were back at work after talks with the Health Ministry.

The consultant surgeon had told the nurse in charge not to supervise the work of the nurses when he was on ward rounds. However, the nurse in charge had ignored the surgeon’s instructions and continued to do her ward rounds which earned the wrath of the consultant surgeon.

Following this, all nurses except those manning the ICUs staged a strike which was later amicably settled.
