Residents of the Wattala area have been without pipe borne water for the past two days due to a main pipeline bursting.

The residents complained that the Water Supply and Drainage Board has not been able to repair the pipeline though several complaints had been made.

An authoritative source of the Board contacted at around 8 p.m. yesterday, assured that water supply would be restored in 2 to 3 hours.

"He attributed the failure of the Board to repair the damage to bad soil conditions in that locality,"

"We made a number of attempts to do the job but everytime we tried, the soil collapsed," he said. (HG)
