KANDY - Kandy Traffic police on Thursday (01), arrested a young man who had been evading arrest for several days after knocking down a 48 year old mother and her 16-year-old daughter at Dharmashoka Mawatha.
The suspect did not possess a licence to drive motor cars, police said.
The injured mother, Ismail Sitti and daughter Asan were admitted to Kandy General Hospital.
Investigations are being conducted by the Traffic Branch on the directions of IP Indula Athulathmudai, OIC Traffic Branch.
