The Colombo Grand Mosque (CGM) appeals to the Muslim Public to look out for the new moon on May 6, 2008 immediately after Maghrib to decide on the beginning of the Islamic month of Jumadhal Oola Hijri 1429.
"Insha Allah, if you sight the new moon, kindly telephone the Colombo Grand Mosque on any one of the following telephone numbers: (01) 2390783, 2432110, 21434651 or 0777-366099", the CGM said.
