Foreign investment in Treasury Bills to be permitted
The Monetary Board at a meeting on Friday decided to permit foreign investment in the Treasury Bill market limiting such investment to 10% of the Bills in issue in a move that is expected to push down interest rates and free capital for local investment, a senior Central Bank official said yesterday.The bank in February last year liberalized the bond market permitting foreign investment first up to 5% of the Treasury Bonds in issue and later raising this limit to 10% of the bonds in issue...
