The Ceylon Teachers Service Union were yesterday assured the Secretary, Ministry of Education Nimal Bandara that their salaries would be paid on May 16 in view of four days of holidays from Saturday to Tuesday due to Vesak Poya.
Teachers were paid on April 10 last month in view of the Sinahala/Tamil new Year which fell on April 13, Sunday.
