SLCTB workers complain to President

The All Ceylon Transport Workers Union has written to President Mahinda Rajapaksa requesting that the SLCTB workers too be paid their salaries monthly unlike and not in several installments as done now.

The letter states that the SLCTB employees are discriminated against and denied several benefits enjoyed by employees in other State sector organisations.

It says even the cost of living allowance is denied to them.

The cost of living allowance for 2007, amounting to Rs. 8,500 and from January to April this year amounting to Rs. 6,000, totalling Rs 14,500 is yet to be paid to SLCTB workers, the Union complains.
