Sri Lanka has been elected to preside at the 18th sessions of the United Nations World Food and Agricultural Organisation’s international conference on Tea now being held in China.

The conference which commenced on Wednesday ends today. Sri Lanka Tea Board Chairman Lalith Hettiarachi presides over the sessions. All countries producing tea and countries that import tea are participants.

All aspects affecting, the plantation, production, export and import of tea are being discussed, Director General of the Tea Board H. D. Hemaratne said.
