Starting yesterday until May 25 Defence Ministry has taken action to enforce special security measures in the country for the upcoming Wesak festival, the Media Center for National Security said yesterday.

Additional Police teams have been deployed at places that special religious activities are taking place during this period, the MCNS said.

The Police also urged the public to be vigilant about suspicious activities and people in crowded areas and to report any such activities to the hotlines at 118 and 119.
