Vimuktha, Passi in finals

Sri Lanka’s U-14 player Vimuktha de Alwis now has the opportunity to record a back-to-back win in the Australian Open-sponsored ATF 14-and-Under Week-2 junior tennis that will come to an end today (16) at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association hard courts in Colombo.

De Alwis, who won in his semi-final encounter yesterday (15), saw his Week-1 final opponent Deedat Abdul Razak of Malaysia losing to Vishal Passi of India in the other semi that went for three sets.

Indian lasses, meanwhile, dominated the Girls’ Singles category before Tarranum Handa ousted compatriot Megha Sehrawat with ease in the event’s final.
