Creating designer-quality illustrations and graphics that appeal to viewers has never been this easy. With SmartArt Graphics, and embedded features such as speciality themes, creating quality illustrations is only a few mouse clicks away.
"Slide text in Office PowerPoint 2007 can be converted into a SmartArt Graphic", says an avid user. "Converting text into a SmartArt graphic is an efficient method of transforming existing slides into professionally designed illustrations. There are many built-in layouts to communicate messages and ideas effectively. After selecting a layout for a SmartArt graphic, the text in the slides is automatically placed in shapes and arranged based on the chosen layout. The SmartArt graphic can be further customized by changing its colour or by adding a SmartArt Style to it."
To convert a slide text into a SmartArt graphic, simply clicking Convert to SmartArt Graphic on the Home tab in the Paragraph group and choosing the layout for the required SmartArt graphic in the gallery section is all it takes. The gallery contains layouts for SmartArt graphics that work best with bulleted lists. The entire set of layouts, can be viewed by simply clicking on More SmartArt Graphics.
Enhanced features of SmartArt Graphics include the ability to change colours applied to the shapes within the graphic, with the different colour combinations derived from the theme colours (theme colors: A set of colors that is used in a file. Theme colors, theme fonts, and theme effects compose a theme.) of the presentation. Changing colour of the SmartArt Graphic can be done through Change Colours, under the SmartArt Tools, in the Design tab, in the SmartArt Styles group and you can select the required colour variation.
SmartArt Style is another unique feature, which combines professionally designed effects, such as line style, bevel, or 3-D that can be applied to the SmartArt graphic. Applying a SmartArt Style can be done simply by selecting the required style under SmartArt Tools, on the Design tab, in the SmartArt Styles group.
SmartArt Graphics is compatible with Microsoft Office Excel 2007, Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007, Microsoft Office Word 2007 and Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. What’s more, SmartArt graphics can also be copied and pasted in other 2007 Office release programmes as required.
