Army Commander Lieutenant General Sarath Fonseka visited Vavuniya yesterday (13) morning for an overall assessment and to inquire into welfare measures of the fighting troops. Accompanied by senior officers of the Army Headquarters, he met a representative gathering of Area, Division, Brigade and Unit Commanders serving in the Vanni. Major General Athula Jayawardena, 21 Division Commander welcomed the visiting Army chief on arrival at the Vavuniya Air Force base. |
