She has won the Under-10 age group championship at SSC Open swimming and has achieved two Gold and one Silver meddles for 50m Butterfly, 100m Individual Medley and 50m Freestyle respectively in 2008.
Furthermore, Selany won two Gold meddles and two Bronze meddles for 25m Butterfly, 25m Freestyle, 100m Individual Medley and 200m Freestyle, in an event organised by Viharamahadevi Swimming Club at Kiribathogoda in 2007.
She was also presented with a Gold and three Silver meddles for 25m Butterfly, 25m Freestyle, 25m Backstroke and 25m Breaststroke in the Under-10 age group open swimming championship organised by ‘Fingara Swimming Club’ this year.
Also being a member of Swimming and Lifesaving Association, she has won two Gold meddles and a Silver meddle for 50m Freestyle, 25m Freestyle and 25m Butterfly respectively in the Under-12 age group championship conducted by the Novices Swimming and Lifesaving Association in 2008.
Apart from her swimming activities, little Selany has become a member of the Musaeus College Primary Eastern Band and a member of the College Camera Circle and has brought credit to her school.
