Two persons were killed and five others injured in a gas cylinder explosion in Pasyala yesterday.

The explosion created panic among the local residents.

"It is not an LTTE related attack or any bomb explosion," Police spokesman Ranjith Gunasekera said.

The spokesman said it was either a gas cylinder explosion or a blast in the air compressor that took place in a repair shop in Pasyala.

The dead included one women, Gunasekera said adding one school girl was also injured in the incident. (SI)
