A Supplementary Estimate for Rs. 2,880,180,332 to meet the expenses of the 15th SAARC summit in Colombo next month was presented in Parliament by the Minister of Foreign Affairs yesterday (8).

Since the decision to hold the SAARC Summit in Sri Lanka was taken after the budget 2008 was passed in Parliament, provision for the summit had not been made in the budget and the Supplementary provision in connection with the summit was required by the Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Police Department, District Secretary Kandy, BMICH, National Youth Council and the Colombo Municipal Council the explanation of the Supplementary Estimate said.
