Sri Lanka seems headed towards a new Constitution, Prof. Tissa Vitarana, the Minister of Science and Technology, who is steering the All Party Representative Conference (APRC), told a book launch in Colombo on Friday.
``The way things are evolving, we’ll need a new Constitution,’’ he said
The author of the book, ``A Guide to Current Constitutional Issues in Sri Lanka,’’ Ms. Ruana Rajepakse, Attorney-at-Law and Barrister of the Inner Temple, said in her speech that there were good features in the present Constitution and these should be retained while the bad could be changed.

The elite Special Task Force (STF), which plays a key role in counter-terrorism operations, accorded a warm welcome and a guard-of-honour to Jayantha Wickremaratne, Sri Lanka’s 31st Inspector General of Police, at the STF Headquarters in Colombo yesterday.
