All vital stock indicators except turnover down in June

The All Share Price Index of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) had lost 3.17% in June while the Milanka was down 2.55% while turnover for the month had grown to Rs.5.86 billion from Rs.5.44 billion in May, the CSE’s latest monthly report said.

Other than turnover, all other vital stock exchange indicators were down in June with the market price earning ratio losing 10.09%, the market price book value losing 2.21%, the dividend yield down 2.21% and market capitalization at Rs.794.7 billion at the end of last month down 3.24% according to the CSE.

Domestic investors with trades worth Rs.5.36 billion in June, up from Rs.4.48 billion in May, strongly outperformed foreign investors who posted trades totalling Rs.501.1 million in June, down from Rs.961.5 million in May.

The All Share Price Index opened June at 2538.37 points and closed at 2457.84 while the Milanka opened at 3066.88 points and closed at 2988.78.

227 of the 233 companies listed on the CSE traded in June.
